Mayahuel Underage Drinking Prevention Project

Culturally responsive underage drinking prevention project, serving youth ages 12-20, county-wide. The project’s goal is to prevent and reduce alcohol use among Latino and multicultural youth. Youth-driven activities include focus groups, town halls, and community forums. Data collected by youth will be used to create new community needs assessment on underage drinking among Latino and multi ethnic minority youth populations. The updated data set will serve as a foundation for the creation of a multi-cultural underage drinking task force. The task force will create three-year underage drinking prevention plan and monitor local underage drinking ordinances and recommend policy changes to the City and/or County.
